Ms Lolo, Hi. You've gotta lotta gumption girl and that will get you through this. I didn't read the whole thread but I'm certain you can do this. My only concern is with "that tomorrow is going to be better than today and the next day is even going to be better than the last. " While this is true in the long run and in theory, the reality is that sometimes tomorrow is going to suck. But smoking ALWAYS sucks more. Don't smoke no matter how the day is going. I just changed my signature to something like, "it's not about feelings, but commitment". This is true of most of the tough things in our lives. If you've got that resolve, you've got this quit-thing licked. Don't always trust your feelings because sometimes you'll feel like smoking! We believe in you Lolo and we are here rooting for you :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,800 Amount Saved: $5,130.00 Life Gained: Days: 87 Hrs: 1 Mins: 38 Seconds: 26

I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyones help. I should of done this awhile back. Oh Well, NOW I know! I guess learning to look in the mirror and saying that you are proud of yourself even for not lighting up can and will make a difference. I was told once that I need to think I am the best then I will be the best. Didn't think that was ever possible, but now I am starting to believe it. I had to take baby steps in order to walk. So, I see no difference here. I am now at the point where I am walking and on my way to jogging. The AWESOME thing is that before I quit smoking I had a hard time just walking literally a half a block without losing my breath. Since back on April 24, 2007 the first day that I did not smoke, I have been trying to walk faithfully. I guess I wanted to be able to walk without it hurting to breathe. Well, I eventually got to the point where I was able to walk about three miles. I am happy and proud to say that tonight I was able to power walk 7 miles in 2 hours. I never thought that was possible and here I am! NOW my goal is on my 1 month quit date I want to be able to jog one mile! So without me being determined and saying that I WILL NOT SMOKE!! I wouldnt be at this stage of the growing process. I guess that is what it really seems to be. I am growing and learning about myself. Who do I want to see in the mirror now that I dont have that stick? What do I want now that I dont smoke? Where do I want to go and do now? When do I want to let go and move forward. Why do I want this so bad? How do I move forward? I think I am finally getting this. I think I am finally understanding that tomorrow is going to be better than today and the next day is even going to be better than the last. But you know what? I am still going to take it one day at a time or if need be a minute at a time or a second at a time. But I will get through it. I will stay strong! I WILL DO IT! I WILL NOT SMOKE! Lolo You have done a wonderful thing for yourself and those who love you in this world. I know it is difficult sometimes, this is a terrible mind numbing and exasperating addiction. But remember it is an addiction, try to be kind to yourself and just remember that you do not need cigarettes, the tobacco industry needs you. It is possible to free yourself and you are doing just that. Drink lots and lots and lots of water, distract yourself and remain focused on the kindness that you are bestowing on yourself. I think that you are worth the effort, and I dare say that you do too. If you did not believe that you would not be here. My heart goes out to you my friend, there will come a day when you will look back at this and know with a supreme confidence that you are doing the right thing in the right place and for the right reason... Stay strong...YOU ARE DOING IT... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 268 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,040 Amount Saved: $2,814.00 Life Gained: Days: 48 Hrs: 23 Mins: 48 Seconds: 7
