When I was a new quitter here, we always had a Monday morning stats parade for everyone to proudly hold up their stats and march together.
One person who always posted his stats and very often started the parade was Bubba (Lyndsey) Indeed, I believe he was the one who first started the idea of the Monday stats parade.
I see that sadly Bubba was safely gathered in at Easter, proudly smoke-free to the last.
I didn't always agree with all his views, but there is no doubt whatsoever that his wisdom and particular brand of "tough love" helped many (including me) to stay on the road of freedom.
I noticed today when I logged in that the quote of the day was one of his sayings (which is weird because I had already planned to make this post and dedicate it to him)
In case you missed it, here it is:
"If someone told you to take a 1000 pounds elephant and swallow it whole, itd be an impossible task. Even if you could do it, how in the world would you ever get it to digest? But, if you were to cut the elephant into 1 inch pieces, you could accomplish the task over a controlled period of time."
Today I dedicate my 1000+ days (33 months yesterday) to Bubba with thanks, I believe I have eaten most of my elephant and the few scraps that are left pose few problems now.
I ask you all to march with me in this parade and proudly show off your stats :)
