I think this post sort of got lost in it's own thread and is too important to be buried. Tam wrote:-
Tonight I am suppose to go to a stagette. Have a few drinks, hang out with the girls and celebrate that one of us is getting married. I don't get out much. With a husband, kids and a full time job, I never have time for myself. Anyways, I'm not going and I am SO pissed about it. The reason I am not going out and celebrating? You guessed it, because of nicotine. I do not trust myself not to smoke. It's only been 2 weeks of not smoking. Compare that to 20 years of smoking, I have an uphill battle without going out to a party.Ugh, it is so frustrating. I am SO angry that I can't enjoy a night out with friends because of my addiction.Hopefully in the future I will be able to enjoy a night out on the town and not be scared to death of having a drag of a smoke.GGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many have recklessly attended such events and lost their quit before the evening was out.
I'd just like to say Tam that you have shown wonderful self-restraint at a very trying time so early in your quit and you are to be commended. Let this be an example to all those who come after you that sacrifices must be made to win this war.
I salute you Tam. Enjoy your cake, all of it if you so wish, you deserve it!!
Oh and by the way, you shall reap what you sew today; you will be able to attend such events in the future and enjoy them thoroughly, completely smoke free!!
