Fighting off my cravings

16 years ago 0 598 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi candi, Doodles has the right idea. Have a serious talk with your hubby. He needs to know, in no uncertain terms, that for now, his cigs need to be out of your sight. If that means locking them up in his vehicle, or hiding them somewhere, so be it. Congrats on staying smoke free. YOu can do this, one day at a time. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,784 Amount Saved: $580.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 23 Mins: 29 Seconds: 23

Candi You are doing great !! I am not too far ahead of you and today was easier that yesterday.. Each day will get better. Last night I listed all the triggers that I have gotten past and patted myself on the back..!!! My husband also smokes.. He travels during the week, but the weekends are soooo hard. Last weekend he went to bed and left his cig. on the bar..I woke him up and made him hide or lock them up!! I am not ready yet to see cig laying around.. Stay focused and you will do great!!! Candi I found early in my quit that when I forgot to take my chantix the cravings, or urges, increased. I think it's best to stay the full course on them. That way you get a few months practice at resisting the psychological triggers before you take away the physical support. Glad to hear you didn't cave. No matter what, just remember Not One Puff Ever, and can you promise to post a message with HELP in the title if you are close to slipping, so we can help you if you need it? Candi, Yes, it gets easier but it will take time. Until then, develop new coping skills for the things that frustrate you, upset you, tempt you and so on. Then, practice, practice, practice! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

I am smiling at the angel & devil theory Candi, because thats exactly how it feels, the internal battle that goes on inside you. Bang on! And the first couple of weeks it seems that, that battle is emotionally exhausting, adding to the heap! But you know Penitent is right, it does get better, every day gets better. So kick that little demon to the curb, and hang on! It is soooooooooo worth it! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 194 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,850 Amount Saved: $2,046.70 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 17 Mins: 18 Seconds: 41
