Ive enjoyed being a part of this great SCC quitting team or should we be called the notable SCC quitting machine. The lot of us are winners albeit 1 week or 5 years. God, we are fortunate people in that, not only did we see the writing on the wall, but we took the time to read it and acted upon it. We are achieving goals that we might previously have felt were, well unattainable. I think it is the mindset, the timing, and planning and oh yes that think called tenacity. We are tenacious people, not the stubborn kind but the determined type.
I know of many quitters with successful quits of 25, 20, 10 and five years. They are everyday folk and are masters at remaining smoke free. They have learned and absorbed the meaning of the golden rules: NOPE and smoking is not an option.
I know of some who had handily had this addiction beat but found a reason to light up after being some free for a couple of years. Rusty has pointed out that we need to keep our guard up and thats exactly what the slippers forgot about or neglected to do; they became complacent and they had a beat.
Being smoke free is good at any stage! You can breathe, you have energy, you not waiting for that next opportunity to go puff and all the other baggage that comes with it
