Repeat after me unhooked and Lainey
" I could have smoked because of these jerks, but I didn't! You know why? Because I'm a non-smoker, and non-smokers don't smoke. Only jerks smoke..and I'm not a jerk...like SOME people!"
OK, maybe that last part went a little far, but still....well, you know what i mean

I know why I thought about smoking today. Because I had that urge, you know the one to choke the living s**t out of some stupid a** that richly deserved it. There's an association. But I didn't and stress at work has ruined more quits for me than I can count. I breathed, I drank water, I swore under my breath, and I CRIED. My cubicle neighbour asked if I was crying (it just burst out of me, couldn't even get away from my desk first)& I wasn't even emabarrassed. I said, "yes but the important thing is what I'm NOT doing". So yeah, siruations that we associated with smoking definitely need to be planned for & handled as they arise. I could not have stayed quit today without what I've learned on this site!

Yesterday, Memorial Day, May 28 was one of the worse thus far, but I made it. Beer, Bar-B-Que, and a smoke just seem to fit like a hand in a glove. I enjoyed the beer and the bar-b que.

Great thread! You know, I usually curse my bad memory, but if it helps me get rid of some of those associations.... well, I'll be tickled pink.
The telephone and the pickup are the worst. Just bought some audio books to change out the routine in the pickup. It seems to help.
By the way, the audio books are going to teach me how to get rich off all the extra cigarette money! :)
