For me it is a moot point...It has been all about changing the mind and outlook, then about any specific way of doing it. You must quit from the inside out. This is more than merely the cessation of an overt act (smoking)...This has to do with how we deal with the trials and tribulations that are at the core of our beings.
Change of any sort is hard. For humans, behavioral changes are the most difficult. In many we ways we are the things we do. As addicts one of those things is smoking. So in effect when we quit we change who we are. That is scary, we are comfortabal with who we have been for so long. However, once we realize that we can become so much better by not smoking, we do. If on the other hand we feel that we are depriving ourselves of something (smoking) we will not quit regardless of what methods we choose to do so...
It is a mind game and we play it with ourselves, the physical part can be handled with relative ease, being at home in your own mind is much more difficult...But IT CAN BE DONE...
Stay strong and quit
