Keith, Yes it is the pain talking. Forgive me for what I am about to tell you, because it's gonna hurt, and I hope you don't think I am being too forward. You need to grieve for that little life, that you won't get to hold in your arms, that you won't get to see grow into a toddler, or a teen or an adult, and as hard as that will be, a cigarette is just not going to help. You need to feel that pain and then let it go! Take some time on your own or with your wife and celebrate what might have been. Give the baby a name and a funeral even if its your own service at home. I am sorry for your loss, and may God give you strength to help you and your spouse get through this! Sorry Keith to hear your sad news and I hope your partner is doing well under the tragic circumstances. I wish her well. Crises hit everybody from time to time, smokers and non-smokers alike and we have to deal with them - it's part of life unfortunately. Be strong at a very difficult time and know that smoking won't change any of the cards in your hand. Stay quit and play them like the winner you are. My thoughts are with you. Cigarettes Not Smoked

I was so looking forward to september. To enjoying my smoke free anniversary. I have worked very hard for this. Life was looking great. I even learned that I was going to be a Dad again at the age of 44. This shocked me at first, but this was going to be the one child of my 5 that was never going to see Dad smoking. I felt elated and proud about this. Unfortunately today we discovered that the baby has miscarried. No reason, it just did. Wow this hurts. This was not supposed to happen. Three months into the pregnancy and we had just announced it to friends and family. The news was greeted with excitment and such happiness. Now I have to tell everybody the bad news. I want a cigarette. why when things get really tough do I want to smoke ? after 11 months I want to smoke. I want to drink a lot too. but...I know if I do hit the bottle I'll lose control of my will power and I'll smoke. deep down I dont want that. This is just awful. I need a new coping mechanism. I need to get over this urge. I need something else to numb the hurt. I know smoking never did any of those things for me, but it was still a comfort. a crutch to lean on. It is just the pain talking. I guess after beating my addiction and gaining some control of my life I have discovered that really I am not in control after all. This is tough, and so close to day 365. I wasn't prepared for this.
