NP, Gregor. I thought it was perfectly sensical. Must be why I never thought of it that way. lol. If it's quotes you want have you read Cindy's thread under "Coping With Cravings..This helped Me.." She has many listed there that are wonderful! Have a great day! I love this site. It's total motivation and support throughout the day but especially in the morning when I'm just getting started. Just the boost of confidence I need. :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 90 Amount Saved: $17.55 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 13 Seconds: 52

Welcome Starider and congrats on this very difficult decision. I'm not terribly far ahead of you and can promise that it's going to get better if you just hang in there. Kelly, thanks for that quote, I'm not so far along that reminders aren't necessary and that's a good one. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 264 Amount Saved: $46.20 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 0 Mins: 58 Seconds: 57

Welcome to SSC Starrider and congratulations on your decision to stop smoking! I used Chantix too and it is a great way to aide you in your journey. Come here often, post, and ask as many questions as you like. Glad joining us :) Boxerfan My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 152 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,040 Amount Saved: $760.00 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 7 Mins: 34 Seconds: 41

Well, isn't that just the best gift you've ever given yourself, starrider! Welcome, and thanks for posting. I used chantix, too...and this is the first time in 36 years I have gone a single day without a cigarette, except one time 20+ years ago when I was out in the wilderness and couldn't get to any...lol Chantix + SSC = Success for me Hope you are using the tools here, e.g., the workbook, the glove compartment. They help. And drinking lots of water. And pampering yourself. Pampering is important ;p If you are noticing early morning is an especially difficult time of day for you, try mixing up your routine a bit. That confuses the heck out of your inner junkie. Keep reading, post often, and can you make a pledge that you will not take a single puff before posting for help and getting a few responses? Not like these fake Help posters today, but for real HELP as the title of your post. Someone will come soon after you post that. Looking forward to accompanying you on this journey -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 158 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,320 Amount Saved: $1,074.40 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 3 Mins: 9 Seconds: 30

Hi Starrider! I, too, am new to the site and on day three w/o a cigarette! Sweet! I read this and thought it made super sense..common sense that I never would have thought of. lol. It's plenty a reason not to have that next cigarette... "smoking does not stop the cravings....20 minutes or so after you smoke, the craving for another one will be back!!!" Good luck!
