Good for you, your moving forward. You don't need cigarettes, fact is they need you (and your money)...Keep moving forward, eventually you will wonder why you ever smoked at all...

I have mad an accomplishment today. My sister asked me to get her a pack of cigarettes I didnt want to cuz i knew i might be tempted to buy myself a pack. But i went to the store cussing her out the whole time and bought her a pack. I talked to myself not to open her pack and smoke it. (I hope the driver next to me didnt see me talking he proably thought i was nuts lol) So for me that was really hard and then i was so proud of myself but then tonight my craving got a little stronger but i been fighting them off with all i have. 13 years of smoking wich is half my life i dont want it to controll me anymore.

Congrats on your quit! I am using Chantix and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I have actually weaned off a bit, but it works as long as you are motivated. Sounds like you have a couple of great reasons to quit - your kids.
Hope to see you around ALOT - it sure helps.

Candi,
Hang in there! I quit for good using Chantix. It was my third attempt in a year and the meds really did work for me. Yes, you will sense a declining need to smoke so go with it. After two weeks on the drug, I lost interest in smoking and I had now physical withdrawal symptoms.
But, you have to tackle the habit and addiction. Like you, there were certain routines where I always smoked. Be aware of the triggers and tackle them one at a time. Within a week, I was really happy to sit at Starbucks (outside!) and not want to smoke. I am 10 weeks on Chantix and getting ready to taper off. I had some side effects (strange dreams, constipation) so drink lots of water and walk or exercise to keep your mind clear.
YOU CAN DO IT!

I never thougth I could ever go this many days without cigarettes. Here I am still smoke free. My son (he is 7) is so proud of me saying i am glad your off those drugs. I keep telling him dont ever ever try a cigarette look at how much I am going thru to quite. But with the chantix i been preety good. Mild craving but if i get kinda strong one i just keep thinking I want to see my boys grow up and have kids of there own. I notice the smell from my husband when he smokes on the portch and i feel so bad having my kids usto live with that smell. And I have 2 sister who are smokers and there saying if I can quite they gonna do it. One of my sister is 10 weeks pregnant. She has cut down but i never did when i was pregnant and i keep telling her i am very thankful my kids came out healthy. So hopefully they will quite too
