OK, it's after lunch now. She did the "come smoke with me" thing for her morning break. I just told her to please stop, it didn't matter whether or not she believed in me but I was going to do this no matter what she did or said. But that I would appreciate her support if she is able to give it. She didn't come and taunt me at lunch, so maybe it will sink in now. :) No smokes for me!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry about those comments, Lightshines!!! I think you've got the right tack in using them to make you more stubborn ;-) That's what I've been doing in the face of people saying, "You quit? Yeah, right...I'll believe it when I see it." Screw 'em! We can all do this!!!!

Light,
Way to keep strong! You may need to make a new friend :) Keep those coping mechanisms close and call if you need us :)

LightShines,
You just go ahead and be selfish! It's your life, and your health, and make it the best it can be.
Wear your determination hat with pride, and have a snappy comeback ready if she announces her breaks again. Maybe something like "no, you go ahead and kill yourself alone".
Good luck, stay strong!

Well, I made it through the weekend smoke-free! YIPPEE! Now back to work. Now that I've quit there is only one person at work who smokes. Of course she is mad at me and says I'm selfish for quitting because I'm leaving her to go outside by herself. So maybe over the weekend she has calmed down about it. Friday she announced every smoke breat she took to me, saying, "I know you can't do this so I'm giving you a chance to come smoke." ARGH! I wonder why people are so mean. But now I'm even more determined to show her she's wrong!! I'm putting on my determination hat before I leave.
