smokiejoe, Welcome to you and congrats on making such a smart decision to quit. You've gotten great advice, not much I can add really other than the importance of rewards. They help to get you through the tougher days and keep you focused on the future. Between you and shutterbug, I'd imagine a really nice reward would be doable. Also, don't buy into the myth that quitting HAS to be hard. Just take it as it comes because if you convince yourself it will be difficult - you'll prove yourself right. It may not be a walk in the park but many find it wasn't as hard as they imagined. One day at a time! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1123 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,460 Amount Saved: $5,053.50 Life Gained: Days: 85 Hrs: 18 Mins: 15 Seconds: 43

smokiejoe Welcome to the site...I know this seems like a difficult thing to do...The flip side to that is it is a worthwhile thing to do. I have never found anything in my life that was of any value wasn't at least a little bit hard to do...When you overcome this thing and I have every faith that you will, you will look back at this time and think how you never thought you could do it...The real pleasure comes when you stick with it and find out that you can in fact make it happen... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 251 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,530 Amount Saved: $1,757.00 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 20 Mins: 56 Seconds: 38

Smokiejoe, Welcome! Anything in particular your having trouble with? Chances are someone here has been there and will have some great tips for you. Don't forget to work the tools of the program if you haven't already. Your wife is right, don't beat yourself up. You're smoke free and that is something to be proud of! I smoked the first week while I was on Chantix. Chantix has been wonderful for me. But this is the most thing about quitting, don't smoke. You have to really want this and willing to what ever it takes. Chantix helps, but you are the one that has to put forth the effort. You can and will do this. Wellcome to the best spot in the world.
