Okay, Marie is this picture better? Marie didn't like the kitten hanging by the rope. ;p Thank you all so much for your support. I have taken every word and thought about them. Frist of all I had a V-8 moment this morning. I aksed myself what had changed that would have made me go bonkers. Duh (hit in the head). I am not walking as much as I was in my early quit, my eating has gone to hell in a hand basket. Water, not drinking as much as I should. The combination is a set up for major craves for me. The stress of redoing the the kitchen and some really personal issues and on and on. :( Then trying to make a decsion of whether to continue more meds or not. I am telling you I can complicate the heck out of peeling an orange LOL. So I am going for a walk (3-4mi) this morning, I am going to drink water, lots of it, and I am going to put some healthy food back into my diet. Tomorrow I will call the doctor and go for another months prescription, but only take one a day. That will take me out another 8 weeks. I would rather do this than loose my quit, I just can't bear (no pun intended ;p) thought of loosing my quit. It is so nice to know I have all of you wonderful people behind me. I was blessed with a phone call from one of you and chatted with some on IM last night. Gonna, I will call, thanks. Okay, now let us get on with our day and beat the heck out of that monster!!! Let's rock!!! Sparky Lets loosen that tight rope just abit...I truly understand you when you talk about things being beyond your control...I too am dealing with such ghosts...But the one thing that I see in your post that leads me to believe you will make it past this hurdle is this...YOU KNOW THAT THESE THINGS ARE BEYOND YOUR CONTROL...Once you know that, all you can do is assure yourself that you have done all you can do and then let it go...AND one of the things on that list of all you can do is one thing that you cannot do...AND that thing is smoke...You know deep inside that hurting yourself further in that manner will not bring those ghosts any closer to the ground where you can deal with them...So let the things that you can not control alone, concentrate on the things you can do and put yourself first...That means that you are not allowed to hurt yourself by smoking, because it is an empty act that will only lead you to feel less and less in control...I know how hard it is, but I also know that YOU CAN DO IT...Hang in there and read and write there are a great many kind souls here who hear your pain and will respond, at least you know your not alone in the forest... Stay well and quit nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 244 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,320 Amount Saved: $1,708.00 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 13 Mins: 26 Seconds: 13

You know what, dear friend, I really wish I had stayed on it for six months, as my Dr. suggested. I never had a hard time, per se, but smoking had been so ingrained in my life, that an extra 3 months would have made it a bit easier... Perhaps a call to the Dr....? You will continue to battle trigger craves for awhile. Every once in awhile I still find myself thinking, 'I sure could use a smoke right now....'. I guess it will be that way for awhile. Call me! Sparky I too had a hell of a time when I went off chantix, even tho I'd weaned off it. I wondered if it was one of those milestone craves, but in retrospect i think the intenisty had to do with the lack of chantix in my brain. I don't know if you remember, but what I did at its peak was identify a reward to offset it. I bought fudgsicles, creamsicles, and sorbet....just to make sure I had enough for a few days...lol I ended up only eating one creamsicle, but the act of taking control of the situation turned the corner for me. Those unexpected and unwanted craves lasted for a few days, then went away. I haven't had any serious ones since about a week after then. I hope this is true for you as well. I brain CAN make the neurotransmitters it needs to keep us feeling at least ok without nicotine. We just have to give it a chance. If yours doesnt adapt, then I'd suggest seeing your doctor about something that will help. You're doing great Sparky, and your honesty about this whole process is admirable and I am sure will help many others -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 157 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,280 Amount Saved: $1,067.60 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 21 Mins: 13 Seconds: 20

Sparky ((((((hugs)))))) WE have plenty of rope - no worries, just keep hanging on. It is probably coming off the chantix hon, pamper yourself for a week or two, take it easy on yourself - then it gets better honest. thinking of you - Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 114 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,140 Amount Saved: $199.50 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 21 Mins: 42 Seconds: 52
