Acknowledge the thought. Thoughts aren't bad in themselves. They just not be the thoughts we want to have. So just say..."oh, there's a thought about smoking." See it and let it go. "Oh there's a thought about smacking my husband with the skillet." Because we're grown up now, we are in control of our actions...and they don't have to be guided by our thoughts.
