Sparky, I'm so sorry that this terrible addiction has taken so much from you and your family. Stay quit, Sparky. Don't let the cigarettes rob you of any more. Oh, where to start. First thanks Rusty for the reminder. Anybody that smokes or has smoke are not safe from the hell it can bring to ones life. Pete you are so right. Health and peace of mind are priceless. Twelve years ago last April my sister, who was my best friend, had been sick and the doctors put her on meds and she just wasn't getting any better. They did X-rays and found a spot on her lung. They took a biopsy. The day she got the results she called. I never want to hear these words again "It is the big "C". The doctor said I have four (4) weeks to six months." She died almost six months after that phone call. I love her and I miss her so much, she was my siter and my best friend. I also lost another sister from lung cancer and brother from smoking related cancer. Why has it taken me so long to quit? I don't know. But I have quit for today. I own the damage I have done to my body. We can only hope more and more people do not smoke. Living with the consequences of our actions can be hard. Let's hope we can teach those who follow some of life's lessons. Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 113 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,130 Amount Saved: $339.00 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 6 Mins: 49 Seconds: 58

I don't want to be that old woman with the tank but I have already done enough damage by smoking so long that I very well could be. Pete I'm so very sorry for your condition. I had an Aunt who smoked until she had a heart attack and quit. She had been quit for ten years and then died of lung cancer. Life catches up with us. Why would I quit if I think I already have done the damage? For the pure pleasure of knowing I am trying to take care of myself now. If it's one, ten or thirty years of freedom from smoking it is worth the struggle. We all leave something for someone else. Pete your message could have been meant for me. Thank you Rusty for this post. As you know this is a very sad part of life. My COPD has finally caught up with me. I am fighting the oxygen thing. I means to me that I have lost the battle and can only hang on to what life I have left. We are in a very good place financially, we have money, we have things, we have a hotrod Mercedes. We have a seaplane, the only thing missing is we don't have life. The only thing Duffis has is his mind and he tells me that he really would just like to sail off into the sunset and let go. I am beginning to feel the same way we are tired, worn out and I want to leave a very strong message here somehow. Smoking will kill you. Maybe not today, tomorrow or next year. But how about when you have been quit for over one, two or three years or more. When you think that you have won.......forget it you smoked and now you have to pay the price. I just wish that every one could read this. Success, money, thigs and what good are they when you have no health left to enjoy. Spread the word people, tell your kids that smoking (not can) but will kill you. Thanks Pete My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 554 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,620 Amount Saved: $1,939.00 Life Gained: Days: 72 Hrs: 19 Mins: 29 Seconds: 3

How sad that this is an advertisement! Although many may need it, it is a validation for you to continue on your positive journey and know that this is not a purchase you will be making :) Josie, Support Specialist
