today was. Day two started out scary- I knew Day 1 was wayyyy too easy! I woke up craving and decided to do what I had planned - CLEAN. My husband had a doctor's appt and I even had him take the keys to my car so I couldn't leave. A good idea at the time -- but then (after I had cleaned for 3 hours straight) I receive a call from him saying he is at the hospital and the dr thought he has a bloodclot in the leg. So - not only do I not have my addiction to "calm me down", I don't have keys to get to him. To make a VERY long story short, I was going to call a cab if the tests went bad but luckily all is well and it was not a clot.
Yes - this might have just been a crisis for some and you move on but it set me into orbit - he is my world and we have had a very short time together. While waiting to hear from him I cleaned my house from one end to the other and was up and down the stairs about 100 times. The best news - I DIDN'T SMOKE. I didn't call my neighbor who would have gladly given me one, I didn't search the house for that partial pack that I know is somewhere, I just burned calories, ate suckers and prayed. (Okay - I did do one shot of tequila - have to be honest)
My lesson on Day 2 - I soooo can do this. Not much could be as terrifying as today and my crutch was gone, but I survived and realized just how pathetic my smoking was in the grand scheme of life.
Sorry for the length of this - but it was my true test and I passed!
