Traci, I love your sense of humor! We threw away all reminders too, I think it is a physical demonstration of the mental house cleaning you do when you quit. It was for me. The only junkie I am feeding these days has the munchies ;p and she only gets healthy foods and those mini chocolates, you know the ones with all the calories and fat magically removed? hang tough- Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 109 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,090 Amount Saved: $190.75 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 8 Mins: 46 Seconds: 35

Thanks Sue and Rusty! No problem with not lighting up Rusty - I made hubby hide all matches and lighters (like I was going to light a carrot or something :quest:) -- I am good to go, unless the power goes out or I want to light a candle! ha. hope you see you all tomorrow!

Good job today, Traci! And I'm glad to see you are digging up old posts...that's great! You might have a few rough patches, but just plow on through. The way to quit is...just don't light another cigarette! Hello all! Update here and then I will go back to "Augustos" -- What a GREAT day! At 7:16 I am happy, no longer sick to my stomach (thanks for the tips - I ate and drank water before taking pm dose) and feel really proud of myself. I mean, silly, girly proud of myself. And I am so ready for the hard days - I embrace them now and will fight like heck when they hit. My best friend sent me a plaque that says "you have to walk through it to get to the other side --- no detours". The best part, I realized today only 2 friends (out of lots of friends and family) still smoke. I will finally fit it! woo hoo! ha. Thanks again for all the support and Tresa, I should own stock in a sucker company after today! Have a great evening everyone.

Yeah, Imaquitter!!!! Glad to hear you're doing it. As nonic said, it can be tough, but it is so worth it, and looking at it as a gift you're giving yourself really helps. As for the nausea..many people have that with chantix, but it can be eliminated or reduced by eating before taking it, and drinking lots of water (i was a chantix user and those tips helped). I found dairy products worked for me, but experiment with it, see what workds for you. Pampering is good..for as long as you need to. You're in the midst of a huge accomplishment, so do what it takes to get it done. We're here whenever you need us. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 150 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,000 Amount Saved: $1,020.00 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 23 Mins: 58 Seconds: 7

Hey Traci, Sounds like u made a great plan to get u through today. You've had your practice rounds and you know how much you want this and u can do it! Sorry you're feeling nausea's but I've only read good things about Chantix from other's on this site, as far as how much it takes away the cravings. I'm sure you'll be fine. Your desire and determination are spoken loud & clear in your words :) I hope you take the time to read the poem in the thread "Get Serious". I think it's a good motivational tool. Keep on keepin on :) SMILE AND BE PROUD OF YOURSELF! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Imaquitter: Glad that you have found our little group here...You will find that this is very helpful, it has been invalualble for me...I won't sugar coat it for you, the process takes work. However, the rewards are worth every moment of uncertainty. We do not need to smoke, we never needed to smoke, the cigarettes create the need to smoke. Once you learn how not to feed that need it goes away. This happens over time, and the thing that will compress the duration is to develop a positive attitude toward the process. Don't get lost in the lie that says your giving something up...You are not giving up a thing, if anything you are gaining more than you realize at this moment...Just distract yourself when the need arises, drink lots and lots of water...Start finding out what nutrients and supplements that your body needs and feed your body...Smoking has also convinced us that we don't need food...Fact is we do...And we need proper food... Find an activity that you could not do when you where smoking and get good at it...That will give you additional motivation to continue in the hard times...Most of all come here and post...We will hear you and believe me you will be talking to the choir, we understand this addiction... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 237 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,110 Amount Saved: $1,659.00 Life Gained: Days: 43 Hrs: 7 Mins: 45 Seconds: 29
