Hi anulla, congratulations..you gave yourself the best, most important birthday present ever! You are right, one of these days, we all have to face our "forever quit". Why not now? If we keep kidding ourselves that we can have "just one", we will doom ourselves to a lifetime of addiction...good idea about the bank account. Have you done the program on the left?? It is very informative. Educating yourself about smoking, addiction, triggers; can really help strengthen your resolve to stay quit. Hang tough and welcome. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,040 Amount Saved: $425.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 17 Mins: 1 Seconds: 2

WELCOME ANNULLA :) There are many special people on this site & we all help each other. It's sounds like you're doing GREAT! Cool idea with the $$$, think I just may do that. I think the patch is a gr8 way to ease our bodies off the nicotine. Don't think about what you're giving up (which by the way is nothing, lol), Think about what you're getting :) And as you'll hear many times, your desire to be smoke-free has to be stronger than your desire to smoke. One day at a time, sometimes 1 min at a time. But whenever u need help or feeling like helping someone else, this is the place to come. So welcome to SSC & happy belated birthday 2u :) And you're already coming up on a month smoke-free in just a few days, WOOHooooOOOooOOooOOooOoooooo!!!!!! Just breathe......ahhhhhhhhhh My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60 Amount Saved: $14.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 8 Seconds: 59

Hello everyone, I just thought i'd introduce myself. I joined on Thursday August 16/07 and I haven't had the chance to come on the site since, and i'm excited and also nervous doing this, i've never done this type of thing before, anyways here I am, I hope this is working for me. I stopped smoking on my birthday which was July 23 and have been on the patch since, sor far so good, this is the longest I have gone without smoking, and it's been quite good, maybe I am really ready to do this once and for all, I have my moments but I keep thinking about wanting to be smokefree forever and to live a healthy life and to think all the money that i'm saving, i've decided to open a separate account and every Sunday I transfer the money that i would have spent, it's actually fun doing that. I started smoking when I was 18 years old, I'm now 47. I tried quitting few times before but of course I always made excuses and started again. I do miss it, but so far so good, anyways, just wanted to say HI to everyone.
