The symptoms of depression and GAD frequently occur together. Panic attacks are common in depression and the symptoms of panic disorder and GAD also frequently occur.
It is not uncommon for people to have symptoms of all three. Professionals usually try to use as few labels as possible even though sometimes all three diagnoses might seem to "fit."
Then professionals usually spend time trying to figure out which problem came first and which problem is the biggest problem.
Panic and GAD often go together. Often it seems that people with panic disorder develop GAD(chronic worry) over time.
