Hi All,
Well I decided yay day will happen this week, just one day delayed. Happy Yay day everyone! You guys boost me into action you know. :)
My mum has been busy making herbal essence honey mixture stuff (she's got so many books on things like that) and is making me take it every morning as only mums can do. It hasn't got to the hold nose until mouth opens torture part just yet :) Actually, I don't mind honey so its not that bad. It will take many days to build up and make an effect on me, but anything is a good thing. If it works, I will write the recipe here.
Sue, the most noticed change is my ability to smell things I could never have smelled before. This is a blessing when outside in the garden, not so much of a blessing in a office full of sweaty techies :)
I think it may take a good while yet for me to feel fitter, in reality. However, I am making progress in that department by fast walking for 30 mins during the week and 1 hour during the weekend, keeping my heart beat in the upper limit of 131-149. Not that easy actually. After another month or so, I will work up to the next level called 'improve' (the current one is 'maintain') which should strangely improve my cardio-vascular fitness. From my threads you may remember that when I first put it on it gave me a value of 29 which is like 'wait a sec, are you alive?' values. So I will be looking to increase that value in a month or so. The secret is to ease yourself into these things.
Other major benefits are whiter teeth, ok they're not as white as most peoples teeth but they are 90% better for absolute sure. I may even get up the nerve and upload a first post-smoking piccie. Do you reckon it is a good idea?
Pat, soo nice to see you! I wondered if you have left. Its great to know you check in.
I am ultra aware that so many fail around this point so I am determined it won't be me. Hence I will keep up the promise each day.
I promise to my friends at the SSC and to my quit buddy that I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY.
Here's some smileys. :) :) :) Guess what, today is the last day of week 4 (miracle mile week)! I am starting to look forward to writing a 'JDK has 1 month' thread on completion of day 30 (ok 28 days should be as it is a lunar month, but everyone picks 30). That would make me really happy. Then the realisation may hit. Pat, you're right, its like a comatic state at the moment!
(hugs from kev)
