Sammijo So glad to hear from you. Thank you so much for your kind and wonderful words. We have all fought so hard for this in our own ways, it is beyond wonderful to be moving forward in this manner. I have always felt that things do not happen in a random fashion, although our senses sometimes make it seem that way. My sense is that each of us is so unique and the world around us so complex and simple in the same moment that we are here for a purpose. I am not a big fan of the billard ball game theory of the universe. The fact that each of us has helped the other to arrive in this moment in time is the point of this site. If I have helped you along, I am very glad in deed. You must know that your entusiasm and your creative cartooning have been unmeasurable aids to me. Honesty and the ability to portray oneself in bare bones truthfulness are key to quitting. Thank you for being here and just so you know, even though I may have begun a few days before you, I was always leaning slightly backwards and you and the rest of our group where keeping me from sliding back down the hill, all the time... Stay well and keep doing the cartoons... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 222 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,660 Amount Saved: $1,554.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 12 Mins: 26 Seconds: 24

Nonic, I just now saw this thread and I let out a WHOOOP! of joy when I saw YOUR NAME as the HOF Recipient this month! YEEEEEAHHH!!! You SO deserve this recognition, and here's why I so strongly believe that... For my entire journey, you have been just seven days ahead of me. Seven days doesn't sound like much NOW but back in Hell and Heck weeks, seven days was 168 hours MORE of NOT-SMOKING than I had under MY belt, and WOW, that was a LOT. Through every one of my steps, you have been there, on the sidelines, cheering me on. Though just a half-pace ahead of me, you demonstrated your leadership abilities and compassion by putting yourself out there for me - and for so many others here. "Putting yourself out there" is a commonly-used phrase, but you have managed to do that in a very uncommon way. With your considerable poetic ability, you manipulate words, transforming them from two-dimensional fonts on a computer screen into tangible and palpable yet spiritual forms which consistently touch the reader with your own innate generosity, kindness, and goodwill. I have watched as you have put a piece of yourself into every post, willingly sharing your wisdom and encouragement in unique and creative ways. Yes, you are a gifted writer. It's the fact that you USE that gift here on this site, day after day - that is what's so special about you. Congratulations... and thank you.
