Hi Pat, CONGRATULATIONS! 6 Months is just great. When I looked at your stats I thought 'only 21hrs?' but then I realised they must be days. Best wishes on job hunting. Thats what they always say. :) (hugs) Kev My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 425 Amount Saved: 71.40 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 3 Mins: 5 Seconds: 15

Today I celebrate being smoke free. ...half a year already...Is it possible??? 6 months 24 weeks 181 days 7,240 cigarettes not smoked $2,534.00 saved 21 Hrs: 10 Mins: 49 Seconds: 32 life gained It's hard to believe that time is going past so quickly now. In the beginning of my quit, time almost stood still. Every second seemed to linger when I was learning how to substitute smoking with...well... real life. Thanks to reading all the wonderful posts here at SSC, I had plenty of ammunition to use to fill those seconds, minutes and hours with productive and healthy ways to become a non-smoker. How did I do it? I made a firm commitment to myself to never smoke again. Wellbutrin (generic). The Easyway to Quit Smoking by Allan Carr. SSC...my quit buddies and friends and even the mods kept me occupied with posts, emails, jokes and around the clock encouragement. I took one second, one minute, one hour, and one day at a time. I posted and read as much as possible. I turned knowledge into power that replaced my fears of quitting. I stayed positive and was determined to be happy. Now I rarely ever think of smoking, but I know not to ever become complacent. When I do think of smoking, I just acknowledge that I'm a non-smoker now and move on with life. Today some new smoking thoughts briefly crossed my mind. I found out this morning that my job will definitely be finished by the end of next week. I've known for some time that I'd be job hunting, but the reality hit me on my way home. Then I thought, wow, am I ever glad I don't smoke anymore. It'll be so easy to get a new job! I won't smell like smoke on my interview. I won't be distracted in long interviews by wondering how long until I can get outside to smoke. I don't have to panic about how I'll find another job where I can find an easy place to go on my breaks to get my fix. I don't have to panic about finding a job right this second so I can afford to smoke. I don't have to smoke to find the courage to go job hunting. I don't have to smoke to celebrate when I find one. It's worth repeating. I don't have to smoke. I don't need to! I don't have to smoke. I don't want to! I don't have to smoke. I don't wish to! So I don't. And I won't! Ahhhh, how sweet it is....freedom!!! Care to join me in this freedom anyone? :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 182 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,280 Amount Saved: $2,548.00 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 10 Mins: 57 Seconds: 16
