Kevin, you are right, my bad. Your promise is right there under my eyeballs! Sorry I missed it. I can't say much more about your 'Aha' moment...you will know it at the time, or soon thereafter. With me, my first 'aha' moment was when it was pouring rain and I didn't have to stop and get soaked just to buy a pack of smokes. I thought "Aha, this is one of those freedom things!" Have a beautiful day, my friend! Nance PS and the ones that Mother gives you don't do anything at all My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 168 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,040 Amount Saved: $814.80 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 10 Mins: 48 Seconds: 1

Nance, the promise is there below on my first post today :) I'm not sure about 'aha' moments just yet, would I notice?. I'm just happy to not be craving as much as I was yesterday. The real kev turned up today to celebrate I think. Enjoy your vacation Nance, safe in the knoweledge that I carry a mini-Nance in my head which pops up in times of temptation (for once it looks like I am not working this weekend). I also carry a mini-Sue and a mini-Aloha just for good measure. Week four is called miracle-mile week or mm week for short. As is traditional, it also means a new thread tomorrow. I think you're right about some being very good at hiding their cravings. I could but it would have killed my quit ages ago. Instead, you know when I am craving but also when I am feeling really good. :) p.s white rabbits white rabbits My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 500 Amount Saved: 84.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 53 Seconds: 7

Hi Kevin, My first thought is that there is something missing from your post today, but then maybe that's a good thing! Your confidence is showing, young man! Methinks you are coming into an "AHA" moment, when all of the work you have done begins to pay off! Huge change for you...posting so much positive feedback for others, not totally focused on your own quit...yes, it's going to be an AHA moment! Glad your quit buddy is having an easy time. Some do, you know, and others hide the hard times very well. Everyone has their cravings, it's all in how you handle them. I feel much better about leaving this weekend for a week's vacation. I won't have access to my computer, but I will be thinking of you DAILY, knowing that, for you, the mountain is becoming a hill, and you are climbing it on your own. You are a lesson in perseverance, another SSC success story for sure! Well done, my friend, well done! Let me know what the name of the week is going to be for you...and when is the next YAY day??? (((((hugs always))))) Nance My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 168 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,040 Amount Saved: $814.80 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 10 Mins: 33 Seconds: 41

Hi Aloha, I knew you'd still be up :) Great suggestion for the name. How is my quit buddy doing? Absolutely great. Its like she never smoked to be honest. I'm very proud of her. She rocks! I'm not quite there yet but one day... My watch (ug week reward) should arrive today hopefully. It'll be interesting to find out my bpm. Its waterproof so if I eventually take up bodyboarding .. :) You know they should have a SUPER BIG SMILE emoticon here. I feel like using it today. Getting rewards are good, having some great girls check up you is even better. Just don't tell phil that I had a softie moment :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 500 Amount Saved: 84.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 40 Seconds: 51

kev, Just one more day and you will have sailed through ug week!! Is that amazing, or what???? Maybe week four could be called the miracle mile..for that last stretch leading up to a month? You may not experience any milestone difficulties at all....not everyone does, you know lol at Nance's remembrance of that first month..I remember when you bought those cigs...and returned them, Nance! I think someone else did that right around the same time. I remembering laughing so much at the image of that..don't know why. You are doing great, Kev..how's your quit buddy doing? Have a wonderful smoke-free day -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 132 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,280 Amount Saved: $897.60 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 9 Mins: 53 Seconds: 41

Last day of Ug week. Yippee! Wahoo! Thanks and hugs to all that kept me sane so far. Afer reading aloha's post I think I should start stocking up on anything ending 'icle' (from 30,60,90 day pit thread). I wonder whether I will know about it. Todays question is : should week 4 have a name and if yes, what would you call it? I promise to my friends at the SSC and to my quit buddy, that I WILL NOT SMOKE today. Hi Nance, Thanks. Its something that interests me so much. I'm going to assume that you prefer day 166 right? :) I've done the stand outside with the smokers thing. During the first week of my quit. I decided not to do that any more after then. I actually like the smell of smoke at the moment. I can now instantly smell when someone has gone outside for a smoke and come back. I haven't been to the shop I normally bought smokes from without a responsible adult yet. And when I do go, I end up buying a box of chocolates instead. It means my work colleagues get spoiled instead of me spoiling my health. I am eating slightly more. But I don't seem to have put on much / if any weight... yet. I plan to exercise 100% more than I do right now, which isnt hard. I still drink tea like it goes out of fashion. But that is nothing new there :) I crave more than I do not, and even dream smoke. QBA saves me many times a day, as does posting on the SSC. Thats my little snapshot of just over the middle of a month. So I can refer to it later. p.s. Thanks for your pledge. Good morning Kev! Remember my first month? Sort of. I remember feeling like a smoker who just didn't smoke. (I now feel like a non-smoker who used to smoke) I remember often thinking "this is the time when I would have smoked" and having to dig into my coping strategies to find something else to think about. I remember going outside at work to the smokers area to get a whiff of the second hand smoke. It didn't stink so bad back then. Gee, I wonder what changed? I remember being on this site constantly, reading, posting, reading, posting and reading some more. I remember the first time I went into the little store where I bought smokes...to get milk and bread...and automatically asked for cigarettes, paid for them, and then when I got to the car and realized what I did, took them back and got a refund. I remember wondering if I was always going to feel like I was missing something, and if I could stay quit forever? I now know that I am not missing anything, and I can stay quit. I remember wondering if my blood pressure would go down (it went up) and what health benefits I would see. The answer is none, I have actually discovered a couple of problems that were masked by smoking. When I go to the pharmacy to get my meds I sometimes think that smoking was cheaper! I remember my first trip to a pub...not my normal hangout. This place had really good air filtration, but there were two women across the bar who were chain smoking. I watched each and every puff for a while, remembering...wishing...tasting...feeling... These are a few of my musings from 5 1/2 months ago...seems like longer. It's pretty early in the morning and my brain isn't quite fully awake yet. I promise you that I will not smoke today! (((((((hugs)))))) Nance My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 167 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,010 Amount Saved: $809.95 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 7 Mins: 13 Seconds: 58

Darts! Wow, I couldn't hit the dartboard if it was right in front of me! So it is a great skill to have Sue. I am mr flukey at pool though. I got on the pub team by my natural ability to hit the cue ball hard and hope. My teeth have improved 80% since I stopped smoking. That is one major bonus. I use party polish on it whilst waiting for the next dentist appt. Kev, thanks I did have pointy thinggies so that was probably it!! I wanted to advise that I have a new coping strategy I want to try out - darts, I think it will be very satisfying. I loved going to the dentist Kev, to get some teeth whitener!!! After 25 years I did some damage to my teeth. Have a marvy day :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 890 Amount Saved: $155.75 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 11 Mins: 12 Seconds: 15
