A person after my own heart...I did the same on 25 Decenber, 2006...Threw the last one down and said ok this is it...And its been a good ride, tough mind you, but good.
About a day later, though, I realized I needed a plan, or else this would be just like every other time I tried to quit...So just a word to the wise...You have found a good place to work this thing out. If it had not been for this site, I'd be knockin back two packs as day. You really should have a structure and some sort of plan. Specifically, you need to create coping mechanisms before you need them...Take some time and read through the program, read old posts and most of all get down to the why, where and how of your smoking...Everybody quits in different ways and the severity of the process very much depends on the person.
Thanks for making the decision to quit, you will not be sorry. There are many people here who will invest in your efforts and help you along, but bottom line is you have got to want this to make it happen...Stay close by here and post and read. Learn all you can about the addiction, you will find that knowledge gets you through the hard times...
Stay well and strong
