A new moment.. A new day #2

17 years ago 0 241 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hmmmm.. Friday the 13th :8o: LOL ! Who cares ! When you wake up it's another beautiful day ... Why ? Coz we're NOT SMOKING :) I've been awake since just after 1 a.m. - OMG ! It's going to be a VERY long day but I was just so excited that it's one week smoke free for me today that I couldn't fall back to sleep ! And now what? Well I'm here.. I do so much reading at this site and learn so much along the way :) Even though I did not have any cravings nor think about not smoking while I spent the afternoon yesterday with my friend it didn't stay that way last night. Had some huge waves of craves but with lots of breathing excercises and drinking water they passed - as they always do and then I was in bed by 8 p.m. I laid there in bed and just before I fell asleep I smiled a huge smile knowing that I passed ! I didn't smoke TODAY and I was so pleased with myself. Now we're all in a new day... One foot in front of the other... Going slowly... Just walk through it... As they say - Rome wasn't built in a day ! Don't forget, give yourselves a hug .. You're all doing great ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $50.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 8 Seconds: 27

Hey everyone ! Great to see all of you :) Handy.. Tired - lay down, sleep or just rest and take your mind to a better place, a quiet place, a place which brought you some pleasure ! Cranky.. scream into a pillow, find some old dishes and find a place (garbage can..whatever) and toss them in.. the sound of breaking dishes is soooooooooo great ! Remember you're in today and take each moment as it comes and then when the bad stops (for however long) hug yourself for a job well done ! You got THROUGH it ! Celebrate it.. :) Unhooked.. you're freakin' gorgeous yourself ;) WOOO HOOO ! Yes Unhooked.. there is a whole lot of good, bad, ugly, beautiful, celebration all mixed into our days. We have more emotions now than EVER before and we have to just go with each one of them and at the end of the day - WE ARE SMOKE FREE ! ! ! ! Cheeks.. right on ! Do lots and lots of reading and posting here. And again.. napping is good ! We need to rest our bodies, we are healing and resting the mind is essential as well. I had a most beautiful lunch today :) My friend went way above and beyond just the lunch. She took me to our favourite drugstore and filled up the cart with all kinds of personal items - mango and mandarin body spray, lotion, a Stephen King book, Sudoku game book, the dvd "Crash" and the list goes on and on ! What a fantastic afternoon.. Exhausted..lol... Did not have one craving .. YAHOOO ! So distracted with all the fun and didn't think of a cig once :) Hang tough everyone.. WE ARE DOING THIS ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $43.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 17 Mins: 58 Seconds: 9

We have a choice every minute of every day. Our addiction is legal so it makes the right choice even harder. Every day, I choose not to smoke. Some days, I choose it several times. Some days, it's a hard choice & some days it's easy. I have to also choose what I will do instead. Soemtimes, it's something pleasant & sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's crying, screaming, throwing things, telling people no longer in my life & some of them long dead, how they failed me & made my life so much harder than it had to be. Sometimes it's telling myself how I've failed others & making a plan to change that. Basically, one day at a time to me is a big rodeo of good, bad, ugly & beautiful & I celebrate it all, every day that I don't smoke! Great idea Sam! As my other thread today states, earlier today was really rough for me. I coped my coming here, posting, and taking a nap instead of running out to the store for a pack of smokes. I just need to keep telling myself that I can do this!
