:quest: What happened to Kevin??? Who's this new JDK who's making promises, running, not drinking and taking quitting smoking one craving, one day at a time? Arghhhh, now that's a big hammer you're swinging my friend. Keep up the good work and you'll soon feel the freedom! :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 167 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,680 Amount Saved: $2,338.00 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 17 Mins: 49 Seconds: 59

Kevin,, Good for you .. run your little heart out ! It's a great stress reliever and it does keep those craves at bay :) I used to do a lot of walking but now with the fracture on the top of my foot it's kept me from that.. And as for writing - I totally understand.. I too do the same thing :) Very helpful for me as well.. I figured out your thread (#7). Write often Kevin and run run run ! Have a great day.. and don't forget to celebrate each time you beat that sucker nicodemon ! You ARE the victor ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 160 Amount Saved: $58.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 22 Seconds: 49

Hi Sam & Bear, Thanks. One thing I am doing and one thing I need to do today : I am for the first time in a long time, running. I used to be good at it when I was at school and it seems like a good way to beat those craves (craving like mad still) and get some fresh oxygen into those lungs. I had better come clean to my quit buddy today as she thinks I am only two days behind her (she's on day 8). I don't need reminders of where I could have been. I promise I WILL NOT SMOKE today, to the SSC crew and and my quit buddy. I'll repeat that promise every day. p.s. Sam, I will let you know how it goes. I write to take my mind off smoking. That explains why this is thread #7 :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 50 Amount Saved: 8.40 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 52 Seconds: 15

Kevin that's exactly it ! Baby steps all the way :) You are going great ! ! And right again, don't look back at the past, stay in the day you are in and don't even look at tomorrow. We must just go with what is.. and that is the moment we are in right now :) So proud of you.. you have a super attitude and being positive will serve you well ;) Enjoy the wedding reception.. have FUN ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 160 Amount Saved: $58.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 15 Seconds: 21

Keeping close. Right I am at day 3 cold turkey again. Which means there is no nicotine in my body. Yippee, or as unhooked would say YAHOO! I did not go to the pub last night, and instead watched pirates of the carribean. Major cravings of course as it is the weekend. Still deep breathing every hour and also on the half hour just to add more oxygen. I am aware that it was day 3 cold turkey last time that I messed up, so am being very vigilant today. I do have a wedding reception to go to tonight but luckily I am going with my quit buddy, who will keep me in check. Just mineral water tonight so I don't let my guard down. Lynda will also have my money, just to be on the safe side. Rejoicing every day smokefree and taking babysteps. Phil, Its a deal. Back on the road to a smoke free life. Sunflowers together. Deep breaths, they're amazingly good! Looking to today and not the past. And yes, on the last part I promise too. If it means getting on the bus and coming home just to do it. I have D:REAM in my head at the moment for obvious reasons :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25 Amount Saved: 4.20 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 35 Seconds: 4
