Blue cloud, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on quitting! We encourage you to work through the online quit program. This in combination with the cravings tracker may help you discover the patterns of your habit and potential triggers. Keep us posted. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hi blue cloud! Say goodbye to that 47 year old cloud of smoke. You are definitely in the right place. Take some time to go through the online program to solidify your strategy and poke around the site a bit. All of us that succeed do it one cigarette and one day at a time - and so will you! Truly, the 4th was your day to celebrate FREEDOM. We are here for ya, take care My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1067 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,340 Amount Saved: $4,801.50 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 11 Mins: 28 Seconds: 18

Welcome to the SSC Blue Cloud! I know what you mean about trying to quit over and over again. I played that game myself for about four years. Realizing that I was an addict was key to me staying quit. Some things that helped me along the way were: taking deep breaths (realize that when we smoked, we took a lot of deep breaths); drink a lot of water; get through 5 minutes at a time, one day at a time find things to distract you believe in yourself because you can do it. You are doing one of the greatest things you could do for yourself. Congratulations on your decision to take your life back from the enslavement of smoking. Post when you need to and learn all you can about the horrible addiction. Hi I am 61 year old woman and have smoked for over 47 years. I have been trying to quit smoking for the past 5 years. My longest quit was 31 days. I have been through smoking cessation classes and am currently taking Wellbutrin for the second time. My intentions this time around is to REALLY understand that I am 'addicted' and smoking is ruining my health. I need all the support I can get and look forward to getting to know some of you.
