Hope you're in bed already and that you congratulated yourself for not smoking when you were frustrated and angry. It is hard at first, isn't it, to not use the distraction of a cig when we face these challenges? That's been one of my toughest things, but believe me, it does get easier, each time you deal with things without a cig, you realize you don't need one.
Good work

Oh, mamakitty, the only thing harder to deal with than a 10 year old daughter is a 16 year old daughter. Or maybe an angry 2-headed alligator. Sorry but it's true. Smoking won't change that, nothing will change that. Brace yourself, hon, & get LOTS of coping strategies in place. Good for you for not giving in tonight, going to bed is probably the best idea. Check in, in the morning & let us know how you're doing. (((((mamakitty))))) (((((babygirlkitty)))))

Hey there Mamakitty,
Sorry you're having such a tough time. Take some deep breaths, stay here and read for a while, then head to bed. It's difficult and stressful situations that trigger the desire. We're used to having our crutch, and now we have to find other ways to deal with the stress. Smoking won't help, you would just feel worse. I think you have a good plan....go to bed, tomorrow is a new day.
((Mamakitty))
Take care,

My 10 year old daughter seems to be going through a new phase of opposing me, and again my husband finds fault with what he says is my inability to deal with conflict - and I know I need to be the adult but dam it I just don't feel like it sometimes. I don't feel understood, I feel hurt, angry, sad and alone... but nothing is happening except a few soft sobs and my eyes are blurry. I'm typing to you guys because you're there, and somebody must know a little bit about how I feel. I'm crying, sipping on some wine, and if it weren't so late I think I'd go get a pack of Basic Lights in a box and stay on the patio with the cat while everyone is asleep and smoke. But I won't. I'll go to bed.
