Glad you're feeling better, Sparky. You look great, too. Congrats on getting through a rough one, you're awesome! Great attitude! That fear of coming here saying that I'd screwed up is exactly what kept me from doing it again... until I developed other reasons that were more important and more personal. But honestly, for a while, all I had what that fear of letting everybody down. So I completely understand where you are coming from! Even though you DO have to start trusting yourself again, and I believe that you will, that "fear" of letting everybody here down is actually OK in the short term... whatever it takes to keep you smoke free! Congrats on making it through a tough day! Crave the Quit! Thanks guys. Better today. Need more action and less time thinking. Believe my mind is a scary place to go. :eg: BF, you said "Your fear is stemming from your lack of trust in yourself." Your are so right. When I live in fear I am not living in trust. I never ever want to post again that I didn't make it. I want to come here and sign in and see my days accumlate, one day at a time. Today I can not think of good reason to smoke. I can think of many reason to stay smoke free. Thanks for the whine :p Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 640 Amount Saved: $192.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 16 Mins: 13 Seconds: 49

I have the same thoughts Sparky, not that I want to smoke, but that I will lose the quit. Others do, others on Chantix like me, it is scary. I shove those thoughts away and keep on quitting, one day at a time just like you are. We are strong, committed and tough and we believe we will do this. I try to only listen to the positive voices in my head :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 610 Amount Saved: $106.75 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 19 Mins: 33 Seconds: 48

Whine away Sparky. That is what we are here for. YOu are doing great and you dont have anything to fear. You are in control now not the addiction. When the junkie thinking starts dismiss it immediately! Do not even entertain the thoughts. It's the addict in you but you can beat it. You know it takes a while to get over the damage that smoking has done to us over the years. For me, the emotional aspects were the hardest thing to get over. You keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will make it too. Congratulations on doing soooooooooo well! Be proud of your accomplishment!!! Sparky, I was still having the odd rough day around where you're at. Put up with it, learn from it...remember how bad it was/is... because when you get to where I'm at and you have a bad moment or two... you can think, "Yeah, but this is a whole lot better than I was doing at day 63!" Just kidding. Mostly. :) It does get better. You're doing a lot better now than you were at day 20... and you'll be doing a lot better at day 120 than you are now. It just takes time! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 118 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,950 Amount Saved: $1,091.50 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 2 Mins: 30 Seconds: 23

Hey, Sparky. Non-smokers have bad days, too. You're a non-smoker having a bad day. So, like non-smokers do, you ackowledge it, talk to some friends about it, write it off, go to bed & work on a better one tomorrow. Sounds like non-smoker thinking to me! You know you're not going to give in to the junkie & we all know it, too & tha's why we're so proud of you. I didn't hear anybody whining or feeling sorry for themselves, I heard a friend having a rough day reaching out for encouragement. You have an awesome quit going, Sparky & you help so many of us with your common sense advice. We're here for you just like you're here for us. Sparky, You are doing great. Don't worry about how you are feeling. It comes with the territory. Eventually it will pass. It's hard to know that for a lenghty period of time we will not be ourselves...but if we want to become non-smokers we have to put up with it. We are all different and some get over the hurdles faster than others...but in the end we all overcome them. One day at a time. If tomorrow isn't much better....then the next day will be. One thing about quiting.....:::: there is always tomorrow. We're hear for you and vent and whine all you want. Sparky, Like me, I know that you have had several failed quit attempts. I found that the absolute hardest thing for me was to trust myself again. I kept thinking, "I'm going to slip again! I just KNOW it!" After every single slip, I thought "THIS IS IT! I WON'T DO THAT AGAIN EVER' And yet I did! So trusting myself NOT to do it was REALLY hard. I kept asking myself, "what's REALLY going to make this time different?" The answer is N.O.P.E. and how dedicated you are to it. If you're dedicated to N.O.P.E. then there won't BE a next time! This IS it! Your fear is stemming from your lack of trust in yourself. But I found that after my third slip, I was SO afraid, deathly afraid, of slipping... that there was no WAY I'd do it! And I think that's true for you too! If you really fear losing your quit, then you won't. In other words, if you fear losing your quit, then you have nothing to fear! ;p You're doing an awesome job and those fears that you have are normal. And eventually, you WILL start to trust yourself again. Until then, just keep taking it one day at a time. Today's almost over. I hope tomorrow is better for you! Crave the Quit!
