This is how I look at the situation with my kids: when you know better, you do better. I couldn't live with the guilt if I let myself see it any other way. I have apologized to my kids & asked for their forgiveness, understanding & support & that's all I can do. I loved then when they stunk too!
The headache might be at least partly from the quit. Many others here including me, were headachy & nauseous for the first little while, some of us a couple of weeks or more.
The way I try to see it (& it came from wise people on this site way before me) is whatever unpleasant symptoms you encounter, embrace them as part of the healing process, know that it's your body's & your mind's way of healing from the awful things your addiction did to you. That includes the feelings & emotions you robbed yourself of feeling so don't be surprised if you become overly emotional or even depressed for awhile. It's all normal, it's all healing & as long as we stay quit, it's all good. Congrats on surviving hell week & hang in there, in BFS's words, it's quite a ride!!!
