'Morning and thanks again for the warm welcome! Yes yesterday was good :) I ran into a problem this morning and posted under cravings. I took the patch off about an hour before going to bed and I woke up this morning at 2 a.m. with a horrible craving! :8o: I received some good responses and now I will keep the patch on and test the waters for bad dreams or other sleep disturbances. It's all a wait and see thing with the patch I guess. So needless to say with getting up so early, took care of the craving and then got out early for a brisk walk :) Have a great smoke free Sunday all ! Hello and welcome Sam. All the best to you on you're first quit day. You have done your homework and are doing this the smart way, good for you. That makes the experience more positive than it would be otherwise. The whole experience has been positive for me and that is in no small way due to this sight and the people that support it. So many good people genuinely interested in your success in this often very difficult challenge. I've found this site beneficial in every aspect of this experience. Someone here has your answers or at least is asking the same questions. Stay strong and positive and you're on your way! Sam, Hello and welcome to the site! Sounds like your first day is going ok. I found that focusing on the moment helped me. At first it was too much to think about not smoking for the rest of my life, but I could handle not smoking for the next five minutes, or the next hour, or till tomorrow, etc. Now I'm over the 100 day hump and I feel great! Best of luck to you! First off.. thank you for the warm and encouraging welcome ! Well it's almost 2 p.m. and I've been keeping quite busy. I don't want to be so busy that I run myself into the ground though. I've been pacing myself and taking little breaks in between. It's quite amazing how much more time one seems to have when you're not smoking. I have my evening all planned out..lol.. I totally agree that mixing things up will be absolutely crucial to not smoking. I already cleaned my 'smoking space' and it smells just great - So when I settle in maybe with a dvd and some healthy snacks my environment will be totally the opposite of what it was :) Ok.. thanks again all and sure hope you're all enjoying your day !
