Today I'll be spending the afternoon with my children. It's "Father's Day", and my kids want to celebrate my relationship with them, my role in their lives... and that makes me feel very good.
And of course, the one big difference this Father's Day is that I won't be smoking... and because I won't be smoking, I and my children have greater reason to hope that I'll be with them for many more Father's Days.
My kids are a very big part of why I made this decision, and how I've managed to come this far... and why I will continue on as a non-smoker. I love them more than my own life, and I want to be around for them as long as I can.
To all you Dads here at SSC... happy Father's Day. I hope that each of you feels as much gratitude today as I feel, and as much hope for the future.
