Mercy, I'm on IM if you want to talk. I know you won't smoke, but sometimes, life smacks us hard in the face and we don't quite know how to deal with it. And it's not even that we WANT to smoke... we just want to not feel the way that we do! But Mercy, smoking's not going to make life go away. It won't solve any problems or make anything better... yes, I know you know that. But sometimes we need to remind ourselves. Don't give the craving anymore power. Let it go and keep fighting. I'm here if you want to talk. Crave the Quit! Mercy That is the OLD you, wanting to numb the sadness with a cigarette. You know that won't help, you'll still be sad and on top of that you'll feel bad about smoking. Maybe writing about what is making you sad and what your options are at this point would help? Not here, just to get it sorted out a bit in your mind and to take some control over the situation. Then go to bed....let it all go. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 81 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,240 Amount Saved: $550.80 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 9 Mins: 48 Seconds: 24

Mercy, honey, you're doing great too, don't forget those 141 days. First, don't feel bad posting. As a newbie & now as a not-quite-newbie, I found & still do that it's better to know that I will still run into craves & triggers for a long time. It helps me be prepared for them. Second, I am truly sorry for whatever happened to upset you like this and you know smoking won't change it. You're a non-smoker, Mercy and bad things happen to non-smokers just like to smokers. Only non-smokers don't have a junkie in their head seizing on the opportunity of their misfortune, to tell them to smoke. You have been strong & you have been a source of inspiration and knowledge to so many here. I am helping you stay strong, Mercy. I have to say I don't do much praying but I know it's important to you & it's what you REALLY need no matter what the junkie thinks you need. So I'm praying for you, Mercy, for strength and guidance and to overcome. Hi guys, When I have a hard time I always feel bad to post as I know newer ones look to us with higher stats for hope. I know I did/do. Yet some of us still hit hurdles from time to time. So please, any newer members....most days are great. The hard knocks still happen from time to time. It started after work....and hasn't let up. I "know" the trigger. It is identified but I don't know what to do with it. I had a sad and disturbing thing happen to me yesterday evening. Something that can't be fixed swiftly and will take time to sort through. It has hung on with me all day and I weep about this emotional thing that happened. I hear screams in my head to give up and what's the use...It says: "YOU NEED SOMETHING AND I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS!"....GO AND BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!" I'm having out of body experiences of smoking to clear my head. Isn't that dumb...I mean...really dumb...like stupid....yet I'm having a hard time seeing it that way right now. I sit here numb, other than the sad feeling of being hurt, decieved and confused. The event left me feeling like a rug got yank out from under me. Especially as this rug was my life. It's too hard to explain. I don't even know why I got into it other than I'm having a whopping time sorting through this. Guess it's just better to go to bed. Thanks... You don't have to answer. What could you possible tell me at this stage of the game. It helped to just type it out. Sometimes the big things in life can be so hard to connect the dots. You guys really are doing great.
