Good job getting that first little pill down! It's a step in the "write" direction! I'm so sorry, I just couldn't help myself. LOL Anyway, work the program here at the SSC, read and post often, holler for help when you need it and keep your outlook positive! Sounds easy, huh? Glad you've decided to join us on this crazy journey! lynexx, Did you post twice just to make me feel better for double-posting? LOL! :) I should be working right now, but I wanted to spend awhile looking around the site and reading. It is VERY helpful already! I've been working up to my quit for a loooong time now. Three years ago, we built a new home and I decided I wouldn't smoke in it. (Husband doesn't smoke.) I mistakenly thought it would make me smoke less. Instead, I've spent much of my life the last three years smoking outside or in the garage. :) A year ago, I bought a new (to me) vehicle. I decided not to smoke in that either. So now I just make short trips or take my husband's old truck because I've always smoked in that. :) It's funny how we go to such extremes to accomodate our habit! I am excited about quitting this time because it's not longer just that I "want" to quit. It has really started to affect my breathing, so I "need" to quit. My mom, who has always been my smoking buddy, is 78 and she wheezes. At the rate I'm going, I don't think I'd live to see 78. *sigh* I appreciate all of you for being so willing to share and support others. I got my first dose of Chantix down - drinking all of that water with it was the hardest part! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -120 Amount Saved: $-24.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -55248

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi, all. I am starting my Chantix RX today and set my quit date for one week from now. I've smoked for 35+ years (YIKES!) and have tried to quit numerous times. I never really intended to smoke for so many years...time just got away from me! *grin* I am a writer and work from home - a very solitary profession - but I believe that an online support community will be VERY helpful for me. This looked like a nice place so here I am! I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I apologize in advance for any tantrums as I tackle this long overdue task. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -120 Amount Saved: $-24.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -55617
