Well. I think it was left there as a test of your resolve and you passed , of course. Actually, do you think, when you were smoking, you would for one second have considered picking up a dog-end and smoking the last few puffs from it? I don't think so.
It's just that your awareness of these things is heightened and you are to be commended for quickly talking yourself away from the situation.
