Glad to hear your perspective on the quitting trip. I'm at 232 days and don't miss them a bit. Did the cold turkey thing also but don't know if I'd recommend it generally.
Some rough dips between then and now but worth it.
First 3 to 5 days are purely tough as you said but after that it's a mental and physical change to the way we think and act that will keep us off the cigs.
Congratulations on 2 years...I'll know I'll see it in my future.
Never smoke again!

Congratulations Katie, and thanks for coming back to let us know how you are doing.
It's also good to hear that you don't think about it any more. I hope that's how I will feel in another year or so.

Two years smoke free. time sure flies. I am very proud that I did it, and it was easier than i thought. I never think about it, and i certainly do NOT miss it.
I smoked for about 17 years, a pack a day.. and I quit cold turkey. I read a book and that was it. I was done.
So to all those just starting out... it can be done.. believe me.. the first three days are the hardest so if you can get through that, its purely mental after that.
I know you all can do it...
Anyway.. just wanted to toot my own horn.
Living strong, living long.
