Atta girl, Faith! Sounds like you have the right attitude....it was a just a slip....many people have had them and then gone on to looooong quits. it might help to really look at the trigger that preceded the slip, so you can prepare for a similar trigger next time. And good you didn't keep right no smoking! We're here for you Hey Tom Nice new ship. Does that mean we're headed for Asia next? :) -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 74 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,960 Amount Saved: $503.20 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 10 Mins: 16 Seconds: 30

Wow, The support and response here is amazing. I feel humbled. Thank You! I won't justify this or give any kind of excuse ... all I will say is that I smoked last night. You can see by my meter that I am back on day one and feel like I have a deeper understanding of the power of this addiction. What's done is done and I feel more DETERMINED than before. More ready to go to war. I may have lost that battle but not really because through it I gained more knowledge of my enemy. What I will do is come here first, post and wait for someone to respond BEFORE I pick up. Thanks again for all your kind words. Hi Faith My local store is half a block away so believe me... I know the "store temptation"!! Doing deals with yourself if a good ploy, like unhooked says. For me, I made a deal that if I wanted to buy ciggies, it had to be after 9pm when the local store was closed. Then... well, I'd have to hoof it down to the 7/11. For that, I'd need to really want one (I don't have a car and it's winter here... a good 20 minute walk in the cold rain?). Being lazy has succeeded in trumping craving so far! By the time you come up with a good and complicated deal, the craving is usually gone anyhow. Faith, you're doing great, hang in. What a lot of us do, me included, is make a promise that when we get a really strong craving like you described, one that seems to take complete control of you, we will come here and post before doing anything else and wait for 5 replies before going for smokes. I had to do it once & I took a bath while I waited for replies to make it even harder to go out for smokes. It worked! There is always help here. You will succeed at this.
