Aloha March Mellows, I found a recipe for something that reminds me of when I lived on Hawaii and Guam and just might fit into this party theme: Yuanxiao or Tangyuan is the special food for the Lantern Festival. It is believed that Yuanxiao is named after a palace maid, Yuanxiao, of Emperor Wu Di of the Han Dynasty. Yuanxiao is a kind of sweet dumpling, which is made with sticky rice flour filled with sweet stuffing. And the festival is named after the famous dumpling. Yuanxiao is sticky, sweet and round in shape, symbolizing family unity, completeness and happiness. If we have to have the lanterns I'll bring them too. Yee haw! Aloha ya'll! Quote from Aloha lol PRB You had to do it, didn't you??? Now I will have that song in my head all day long Just dropping off some more ti leaf skirts, gardenias from my yard, and some ti leaves and ginger to decorate the tables with. I'll start the tables, if someone can finish...lay ti leaves end to end down the center of the table, place flowers every so often...easy, right? Heading to the galley with the poi, sashimi, and kim chee. Can someone put them out please when it's time? I also rounded up some kalua pig. PRB..just for you, I made a coconut hat..keep those tunes coming..but please???!!! No more Don Ho, God bless his soul.
