Welcome to SSC! I also used Chantix and had the same feelings you are having. The first week on the Chantix I first felt as if the cigs weren't doing anything for me, then they started tasting aweful. I didn't cut back on how much I smoked by choice, but noticed that I didn't smoke as many... just didn't want them. Chantix has been wonderful for me! I have been quit for over a month now and Chantix made is a lot easier for me. You still have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. Chantix helps, but you have to do the work. Hi everyone! I hope it's OK to post my intro now when my quit date isn't until June 1. I've been smoking for 30 years and have tried many times to quit, but was never successful. This time I'm doing tons of research and have spent a lot of time here reading everyones' posts. I'm on the 3rd day of the first week of my Chantex and I'm hopeful that this will be my last Quit! I'm trying to prepare myself for my quit date by cutting down the number of cigarettes I smoke. So far I've gone from 15 a day to 5-6. It's wierd but I think the Chantex is kicking in because when I do smoke it's as if I'm smoking air and, well, it's hard to explain, but it just feels different. I'm both scared and excited to quit and can't wait to be free from nicotine's hold over me. So, you'll be seeing me around. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -68 Amount Saved: $-16.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -34642
