Phil is my hero too. Yay Phil! Cost would never be a motivator for me. It should have been because it made me furious to pay it, but I would. The only thing that made me quit was sone bad health. Mitch, no it's no wonder your husband is so excited, make him reward you with something realy special at the end of the month, you've earned it. PHIL, my man, awesome that you actually forgot to keep track! You are a non-smoker & do you mind if you are also my hero? Hey you made me realise something..... In order to help me quit one of my rewards was to tick off another day not smoked on my desk calendar each morning..... It was the first thing I did every day! So I could look at the days crossed off and motivate myself. Just realised I havent done it since January 18th I MUST BE A NON SMOKER!!! YIPPEE!! Here is Aus, we pay a great big taxbill on each packet. My hubby is having a excited fit now that I quit. He did the sums and it wasn't pretty. A packet of 30 cost - $13.65, I used to need a new packet every 2 days, so each month I spent $204.75 on smokes. Is it any wonder he's jumping up and down with excitement. Hey Carylene, I keep track in a book at work too, and I write down whether or not I did my excercise and mark off each day not smoked, it may be lame but it helps me get to tomorrow! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 82 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,050 Amount Saved: $865.10 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 2 Mins: 45 Seconds: 7

The money motivates me for sure! Some of you might remember, I was going really cautiously, doing the whole pre-quit program & hadn't even set my quit date yet when I went for smokes & they were $12.07. I set my quit date right smartly after that. I smoked something just less than a pack a day, average. That's serious money in a month! Plus it just really pissed me off that there are so many things that just cost what they cost & I have to pay it, like gas, groceries, etc. & there I was paying over $200 a month to commit slow suicide. I finally saw myself for the addict that I am, no different than the panhandlers downtown who would rather have a fix than a meal. wow penguin. I had a fit when they went to $4 a pack. I am almost embarrassed now. Mercy - I am so lame, I keep track of how much I have saved to date on my calendar at work...it really motivates me. And apparently we are saving even more casholies, as they are up to over $12.00 in some stores. Isn't that ridiculus when the actual cost is probably $1.50. Oh well more SAVINGS for us! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 82 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,050 Amount Saved: $865.10 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 2 Mins: 39 Seconds: 16
