Craving like I was on first week

16 years ago 0 541 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hit is the stomach sounds a bit severe but yes I too still get cravings. But you must remember, when you smoked you got cravings too right? Boarding the plane, "darn I had time for another smoke" or Gosh when will this movie be over so I can go out and have a smoke. How about, When is my break? Maybe I can sneek out and have a smoke and not get caught. Were those not cravings too??? For me when I calculate it out, I actaully had fewer cravings now then when I WAS a smoker. I am tired of cravings and that is why I will NEVER SMOKE AGAIN!! Oh, except ribs and chicken on the grille of course ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 800 Amount Saved: $112.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 0 Mins: 46 Seconds: 23

Kita Oh yes, THOSE dreams...I had a bout of them as well. Did you see the suggestion about a "break basket" at work? I don't know if that is one of your hard times, but if it is, I thought that was a great suggestion. Of course, when you would put one together working 12 hour days, I have no idea. I'm glad you're staying strong despite the urges. I'll be on the cruise, but most likely everybody will be sleeping as usual. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,720 Amount Saved: $462.40 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 13 Mins: 21 Seconds: 50

Aloha, I halved the dose because the nice nightime dreams were becoming horrible nightmares. That is when I decided to stop the evening dose. It will be 10 weeks tomorrow and I really did not expect the cravings to hit as long and hard as they have. Just have to get through it one day at a time. Won't be on much the next few days it is the end of the month and I will be doing 12 hour days till Thursday. Are you going on the cruise? Dexter Congratuations on 2 weeks smoke free. Kita Glad to hear you're still around. Anything I can do to help? Have you been reading the Weaning off Chantix thread? How come you halfed the dose earlier than 12 weeks? Just curious. What are you doing to make it through the craves? And are you noticing any particular triggers? Either situational or time-related? I've noticed that for me, once I figure out why I am craving (I prefer the phrase "having an urge"), it lessens the impact of it, and I can better predict and be prepared for them. I keep reminding myself that each time I don't smoke when I have an urge, the next time I am in that situation it will not be as difficult, until finally I will not have the urge at all. Dexter Glad to hear the last part of that phrase. And what do you mean you beat yourself up for not just quitting? You ARE just quitting! You haven't smoked, right? So, therefore you ARE quitting. No, you HAVE quit. Did you think it would be easy? I think how we look at it has an impact on how difficult or easy it is, but as I am sure you see here, everybody faces some challenges along the way. I agree with the folks who advocate looking at this quit as being a positive thing, something we want to do, not something we have to do, and we are not losing anything, we are gaining so much. What were your reasons, again? Dexter has quit for 14 days! Awesome!!!!! 2 weeks as a non-smoker. YEA for me!! aloha, forgot the last part of the statement. Practice not profection, but keep the fire off the cigs. It helps me not to beat myself up for not being able to just quit. Sometimes I get into the rut of beating myself up for having a hard time quiting. No matter what I do is OK as long as I don't light up. That doesn't mean its OK to put myself in tempting situations. Dexter? Practice not perfection? Sounds like a set up for an excuse to smoke. Come on buddy, what are your reasons for quitting? Before you do, remind yourself of them and ask yourself if smoking will get you there. Then, come here and ask for help...wait for 5 responses before smoking..or call someone in real life who is supportive. You do NOT want to go through this beginning phase again!!!! It DOES get easier!!!!! And I bet ya anything you are breathing better, feeling better when you are not focusing on your craves. I think you have to think about whether you want to be healthy and smoke free more than you want to smoke those nasty addicitive things. Please do not let your junkie take over. Care about you -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 67 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,680 Amount Saved: $455.60 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 8 Mins: 51 Seconds: 47
