Okay Butterfly " Lifes not fair " :p I realy hate to say this but I lost weight when I quit must be in the jeans oop,s genes. But then Bears do eat a lot of fish. :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,098 Amount Saved: $610.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 0 Mins: 21 Seconds: 24

Thanks for the pickmeup everybody. I agree Rusty... it's not fair! And now, I'll wait for somebody to tell me that life's not fair either! :p Jean, the reason I can't walk everyday is because I broke my foot and have had two foot surgeries... even though it's OK for normal stuff and usually doesn't give me too much trouble, walking for a hour once or twice a day would surely do me in. That's one of the reasons why I like swimming so much... it's no impact. But it seems like getting to the pool lately for me has been a chore. Once I get there, I love it! But it's just the "getting there" that I'm having problems with... I never seem to want to! LOL Aloha! We are the Sparkless! :p Sparky, I'm trying to avoid joining a gym or anything because right now, since I'm in school, I can use the school's facilities for free (well, included in my tuition... I'm paying for it so I may as well use it). But the problem is that I just don't want to do it right now! Getting up the motivation is really hard for me! Thanks Unhooked for the suggestion. LOL Mr. Ed! Thanks for the laugh! :) I'm still not exercising... well, I take that back. My job is pretty active and I've been working A LOT lately, so I really haven't had much time to exercise and I am getting in a lot of activity at work, so maybe that's helping. I don't know since I don't own a scale anymore! :) And I don't want to get one because then I'll obsess over it, so it's better to not even have one. Anyway, I do need some motivation. I think part of the reason why I don't keep motivated is because unlike with quitting, I'm not ashamed if I fall off this wagon. I don't have an entire site disapointed in me if I gain a few extra pounds (you all can't tell anyway! :p ) So I've been trying to treat the weight loss like my quit, but it just doesn't work because I don't have the site motivator like I do with my quit. Oh well... when my clothes get so tight that I can't wear them anymore, maybe I'll do something about it then! :confuse: Crave the Quit! Pam, I put on a few pounds when I quit (I know you won't believe that looking at the fine figure on the left!) Jumping fences keeps me in trim, but sometimes I need a few days off - think it's the body telling us to have a rest! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 461 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,830 Amount Saved: 3,457.50 Life Gained: Days: 74 Hrs: 1 Mins: 13 Seconds: 8

BFS, maybe you are tired of you usual excercise routine & need to try something different? Or, you have been maintaining your fantastic quit for so long, maybe it's time you just relaxed a bit about the weight & just do what you feel like doing without thinking of it as exercise. Just a couple of thoughts. Pam, you will find something that will spark your willingness. That is what got me into trouble the last time was the weight gain, just to vain and didn't want to listen to everyone who said my quit was more important. Well look at my stats, starting again. This time though the weather is great and I do like to get out and walk, but I also joined Cruves. Not sure if you have heard of them. It is a 30 minute workout three times aweek. I love it, plus I get out and meet new people. So as of today I have maintained and even lost a couple pounds while I am quitting. Changed my diet and eating a lot healtheier. Just some info on what is working for me today. You are a winner and alway will be. Pam, sometimes I wonder if, like quitting smoking, you can't have just one...you can't have just one cigarette and you can't have just one day off. Because that happens to me...if I rest for a day or two or if I travel, then I completely lose the momentum and the motivation. However, unlike smoking, you SHOULD be able to take a day off from exercise...you might be injured or for other reasons. Doesn't seem fair, does it? C'mon BFS.. a week and a half off of exercising is ok :) Now if you're into heavy duty exercising it may be too much for you right now. Why not get into at least one good walk every day ? It's amazing how much 1 hr of walking everyday X 7 days a week will do for you. Find a nice place near where you live and throw on some sweats and get moving ! I go for two 1 hr walks per day and it's doing me a world of good. It's up to you BFS..
I don't like the extra weight but I'm starting to think that I need to just get used to it!
This doesn't sound like you at all !?!? You're a go-getter, a doer.. SOOOO ? What do you think - live with the way you are now OR start walking and see a better, healthier you ? You decide :p Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 45 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,125 Amount Saved: $461.25 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 3 Mins: 7 Seconds: 48

No, not the quit wagon, of course! But the diet and exercise wagon! I decided to take "a day off" from exercising... about a week and a half ago and haven't exercised since! OOPS! I need some motivation! I really don't want to do this anymore. I don't like the extra weight but I'm starting to think that I need to just get used to it! UGH! I used to be in such great shape! I used to LOVE exercising! I used to NEVER gain weight! WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?! :quest:  :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 701 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,525 Amount Saved: $2,895.13 Life Gained: Days: 49 Hrs: 11 Mins: 1 Seconds: 29
