Hey mercy,
I [live] in Florida, and let me assure you:
- The beach is GREAT without smoking. You can smell the sea air and breathe it in deep! It's not the same, no - it's better!!
- You can still enjoy the deck, the sunset, the staying up late. I don't know what part of Florida you're going to, but regardless of whether it's the ocean breeze, or the Gulf breeze, or a breeze off one of the lakes, it's gorgeous here at night this time of year and the breeze will carry off your friend's second-hand smoke and you'll be fine. Just don't sit down-wind. :)
- We all have four seasons of triggers to live through, and the ones you will experience on this trip will prepare you for all subsequent trips. Enjoy the ride!
Try not to think so much about what you're missing, instead pay special attention to how WONDERFUL it is to be on vacation, enjoying yourself without withdrawals every half hour and having to stop what you're doing to feed your addiction! Experience the joy!
Oh, and have fun!!
