Struggling

17 years ago 0 2039 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I just wanted to add that I spent some time tonight doing a fair bit of posting. Offering help and giving support to others gives me peace with my own quit. I was told today that a pack of 25 cigs(popular Canadian brand) now costs $10.60!!!!! I can think of a lot of things I would rather do with $10.60. Imagine spending that everyday!!!!! Suddenly my "struggle" doesn't seem as bad anymore. What would I do without SSC??? Anna, Healer, Stickin', Windy, nonic, and Aunt Deb, I truly appreciate your support. I'm sooo glad to have all of you as part of my SSC family. I will be OK. Like Windy says, its a phase. I know that. Even though the last little while has been tougher than normal, I consider myself focused(at least I think so!) I still live by the motto one day at a time, and the one thing I'm learning real fast on this journey...is patience. I'll just keep kickin' Old Nick to the curb until he's gone for good!!!! Thanks so much guys, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,065 Amount Saved: $612 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 17 Mins: 44 Seconds: 51

Jan58: I have watched you come along this far through a great deal of fear and trembling and you have not failed to move forward. You have a great foundation, you have developed coping mechanisms that work for you, you know how to do the deep breathing...And most of all you know when its the junkie in you talking...Let him talk all he wants...you have stopped smoking and I know you know... SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION...EVER nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,107 Amount Saved: $609 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 7 Mins: 35 Seconds: 17

It's so strange how we seem to go through these phases...Just keep reminding yourself .... THESE ARE PHASES ....You are doing so well Jan and "this too shall pass". I do believe that we grow into our quits (I'm not sure if we ever grow up though) I'm not sure when it happened but, at some point, those rotten days went away (Not the rotten ones where I wanted to strangle my hubby but the rotten ones where I was craving a smoke) I have to admit there are still moments...but moments are so much better than days. You will do this! Jaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn, Come on now. I believe you have set a quit record for yourself. YOU ARE GOING TO TOUGHT IT OUT THIS TIME, ALL THE WAY. Cut the cord now, you don't need anymore practice, cut the cord. I want nothing more than for you to be smokeless. I want to celebrate with you on 10.

Hold on very tight, friend... One step at a time, one moment at a time. Get those coping skills out, my friend - and don't forget distractions!! You can do this - nic has no power over a quit that is focused and strong! Many Blessings! Jan, Snap out of it girlfriend. Read the posts about cigarette induced illnesses (I think posted by SammyJo.) Maybe that will help. You are much to strong for nic. We have a special guest here tonight to cheer you on - Now do you feel better? Tomorrow is 10 weeks smoke free for me, and for the past week or so I have been struggling. That miserable little nicodemon has parked his sorry behind on my shoulder and very subtly whispers in my ear. You know the drill. The persuasion, the temptation. He'll not beat me down though. Yes, I'm having a tough time(not as tough as in the beginning though), and having to resort back to basics. Patience...patience and more patience. And you wonderful friends here at SSC. I'd be soooo lost without you.
