Lainey
I liked your post! It's good to talk about these things.
As much as it is disheartening to read that someone has failed, it is even more disheartening for that person to have to post about it. I suppose that the slippers and relapsers could just go away, never post again...but my fear is that if we do not support and encourage those people through their relapse, that they may never, ever try to quit again. That would be the pity.
I have been on the SSC for quite awhile, as you can see by my join date. I have had 3 or 4 relapses now, and everytime I come and post, but I also come back and continue to try to make it work. Not an easy feat either, I must tell you. Speaks a great deal about my desire.
While it is difficult for some to read about these relapses, it is my hope that by posting about my struggles and repeated attempts that it may help someone to make another attempt, to stay here and learn more, and keep doing it until they are successful.
With each attempt I have made I have learned a great deal about how I need to deal with things in the future, and I am thankful for the support here, otherwise....I may say....I'M NOT QUITTING...IT'S JUST TOO HARD. Yes, it is hard, but I know it is the right choice and I believe it is possible to be free.
