Yelling very loud

17 years ago 0 388 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I am doing a little better. I actually did what I used to do under stressful situations, no not smoke. Although back then I would drive around the block and smoke. This time I just drove around, put the windows down, opened my sucker and turned up the radio really really loud. I realized that it still helps me to calm down. I need to make a cd of all the songs on Freemom's thread. As you can tell I am doing much better. I am no longer breaking things or crushing half full coke cans. :) All of you who know me well know that I was pretty stress to waste half a can of coke. :eg: Faith and Nance go ahead and email me the dishes and deck chairs, I may need them on Monday when our boss plans to meet with us both. I do have a wonderful boss. She is one of my non-smoking mentors. We use to be smoking buddies, so she knew what I was going through and that also help. Well I am going to get ready for our professional dinner. Yes the day does not end here. But thanks to all of my wonderful friends I am now and will always be smoke free. Luv you guys and thanks for helping me continue to kick ash. I swear I couldn't do it without you. Yikes! Julie, Julie, Julie!! I know you won't smoke -- I know how solid your commitment is to your quit. After 87 days and almost to the beach, you sure don't want to be back on day one again! I love the idea of throwing plates (as I recall, you've done this before). I'm with MomMom -- I'll quick ship you some new ones if that's what it takes to keep you from doing what you know you do not want to do. Smoking is NOT an option -- NOPE! Are you throwing those dishes AT the rude and annoying co-worker? That would make ME feel better, I know! Keep the faith, my friend -- and that wonderful, wonderful quit! Hey there JT, you hang in there. I have some extra dishes if you start running low. I also have some ben-gay if your arm starts hurtin' from all that throwin'. Got a couple of leftover deck chairs if you run out of dishes. I like you better up-beat rather than beat-up! Where's the real Julie??? C'mon, you can do this, I'm standing right there with ya! You are truly amazing, Fighting the Good Fight. You are doing exactly what you need to do right now, which is anything you need to do to get through that crave. It will pass and you will be victorious and your co-worker will still be a jerk and you will still be stuck with her. Is this a situation where assertiveness would help? maybe not, only you know best. I do however find that some of us who would formerly step out for a smoke when people p###ed us off. What that does, besides calm us with the temporary fix of the drug and the deep breathing (you can still do that part)and that i'm too cool disposition, is remove us from the situation (both immediately and in the long run). What that does is allow the jerk to be victious. (You know real chain jerkers can figure this out). It takes practice and lots of experiences under your belt to get to a point of being comfortable in being assertive w/o making an incident. You truly deserve to have your reality validated, certainly the reality of others is not to usrup your own. We're hanging with you right now. Hang tough. Hang in there JT!!!! You can do it. Try to channel some of that anger you feel toward your co-worker's actions into anger toward the cigarettes/nicotine that try to lure you back when you are feeling weak. Did that come out right? Be angry that they put so many things in cigs to make us so hooked and be angry that the tobacco companies have played innocent for so many years. Be angry that the Nico-Demon is taking advantage of your stress to try to get it's claws into you. Also, try looking at the post "A Little Help For My Friends" by Duffis, I bumped it last night, but it moved down a bit. It has tips that might help! Julie Hang in there, this will pass and you will be glad you did not smoke. She is not worth it, no-one is worth giving up your quit. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,067 Amount Saved: $210 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 12 Mins: 25 Seconds: 53

You are doing so great! Don't mess it up because of one (lousy) person!!! You will get MORE upset if you have one - you will NOT be calm as you have it, you will just get more angry and irritable. DON'T DO IT!!! YIKES!!! You sound really really upset! How is sucking on hundreds of toxic chemicals wrapped in thin white paper going to help? I know you know this, but I'll say it anyway - smoking would just make a bad situation worse! Think back to 88 days ago -- remember how smelly you were? YUCK! remember how hard it was during hell week? WHOA! remember standing outside in the cold & rain and wasting time smoking? BRRRR! There are sooo many bad memories! DON'T GO BACK! LOOK AT YOUR QUIT METER - IT'S AMAZING! Keep posting & let us know how you're doing. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Julie, Your co-workers are right- don't give up your quit because of one lousy person. And remember, even if you smoke this person will remain as annoying as always! 87 days is HUGE, do all you can to protect it! Breaking some dishes sounds like a fine way to vent. Please keep us posted!! Hang in there. During this quit, I have tried to remain up beat and positive. It has truly been a wonderful experience. However right now I am fighting tooth and nail not to go to the store. It is a rough day with a co-worker has been very unprofessional and back stabbing. I am taking deep breaths and walking around the parking lot. I and co-workers are telling me she is not worth giving up the quit. I am fighting and will keep fighting to keep my quit. Thanks for letting me vent. I am now going to go get some dishes to break. :eg: Julie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,753 Amount Saved: $304.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 7 Mins: 38 Seconds: 15
