Dea, anxiety is serious problem for those of us with anxiety
disorders. Agrophobia or avoidance is an even bigger problem that
many of us develop either unconsciously or without meaning to in
order to cope with our anxiety and or panic.
It often requires professional treatment. You may or may not have a
disorder yet, but regular panic attacks often develop into panic
disorder, and if you are already noticing urges to avoid situations you
may be prone to agrophobia which can be even worse.
Are you seeing someone about this? If you havent already, it might pay
to at least see a GP for a diagnosis of your condition.
Typically, treatment can involve Anti-depressants such as SSRIs,
counselling from a clinical psychologist including cognitive behavioural
therapy and psychotherapy and heaps of reading, exercises and
motivational stuff you can do yourself.
This can become a very serious condition so its important you get
some help if you need it.
You havent given a lot of info to go by, so I cant tell where you are at
(eg if you have a condition, if you are getting help etc) - but I hope my
advice points you in the right direction. Getting help is empowering
yourself.
