Sparky, seems like that's the overriding theme here...one day at a time. The past is done and the future doesn't exist. What's the saying, today is a gift and that's why they call it the present? I'm proud of you, girlfriend...we all are. I have been absent for sometime. I have been reading almost daily and seeing the newcomer making a difference. There are so many of you. It is pretty obvious why I have been absent; I was smoking. I am sure many of you already knew that. But to begin again requires some honesty. I left not only because I smoked again, I was reading way to many posts that were to negative for me and my quit. Now this is how I saw it and in no way any reflection on anyone. But when I would read that someone had smoked a cigarette and post it and not change his or her quit day drove me nuts. Again I want to stress this is my position. What works for other is their choice and not mine. I would read this and it drove me insane. The conclusion I have come to is; each person has to deal with their quit their own way. I am not here to judge anyone. I am here because I want to live a smoke free life and I need your help. Another reason I left was because of vanity. I had gained way too much weight for me and could not deal with it. I know they say to make your quit a priority and the weight loss would come later. Sorry I was too impatient and couldnt stand it, so that is one of the reasons I lost my quit. The main reason for me to start smoking is that I get bored and forget I am an addict. Also, I would set goals and when I would get them I seem to blow my quits, so no more goals for me. When they say NOPE, there is a reason for it. For me there is not such thing as a puff. That being said, it feels good to be back. Hi Sparky, 8 days is awesome! Forget the past and feel good about that! I can't wait to get those seven more days under my belt! I'm never bored, not with the internet, reading and hobbies. Is it possible to fill those tempting, boring times with some little activity you enjoy? Just food for thought, FWIW. Keep It Up!
