Sparky, Welcome back. I can relate to a lot of what you wrote in your post. It may sound silly, but a very strong driving force in my quit is that if I screw up and smoke I would have to reset my quit meter- and that would really suck. Do what you have to do and remember we are here for you. Hey Sparky, Welcome and congratulations on those 8 HUGE days. You're doing great!! I've decided that for me, I have to just go with the flow too and take it one day at a time. I was waiting for that magical day when I'd wake up and not have one single craving or thought of smoking. NOT!! It doesn't work that way does it? LOL We'll get there when we get there, one day at a time. I love these weekly posts where we pledge not to smoke for a week. I love the daily posts too where we pledge not to smoke for a day. We're still fighting without feeling like we're biting off more than we can chew. I'm so happy you're here. Sparky, The fact you are back on the boards is an indicator of how you are committed to being QUIT. I too am new in my quit, and although I have attempted several times, I could not break through - until now. I realize I cannot take another puff - those cigarrettes are not my friends, but my enemies, and they want to see me hurt, and be hurt because I will lose my real friends, and that includes some of you who post! Hey there Sparky ! I'm a newbie.. had attempted 4 other times to quit.. NOTE: "attempted" and now I'm not attempting to quit - I AM QUIT ! There are no more attempts in my life and my attitude this time round is way different :) Lots and lots of positivity and celebratory moments for me ! Going in with both barrels and shooting the sh*t outta that nicodemon everytime he comes towards me.. squashing him DEAD !
