Actually, my kids are not big junk food eaters either. They like the chocolate frosted sugar bomb cereal but I don't so that's not a problem for me. If I get pop or cookies or something like that for them, they have it devoured before I can even think of getting near it. I have to admit though, I drink more beer than any 2 people I know. All the women in my family have abnormally high tolerances for alcohol & we drink it with meals, etc as a beverage. I have just this week cut it out because it's probably largely responsible for the weight gain. Lainey, I'm not inhuman ( most of the time!), I've just never been a "foodie", I eat when I'm hungry & stop when I'm full. I don't keep junk food or desserts, etc in the house, never have. Food isn't really a "reward" to me. Good thing too, because I've gained weight anyway!! Congrats to all you"losers", can't wait to be one. I posted on here on the 4th June and moaned about weight gain, impending operation and generally feeling sorry for myself. I got some sound advise which made me feel better but I'm afraid all my worst fears are coming true. I am housebound (and a lot of the time couchbound) Have been for two weeks and a few more to go and I can feel the fat just wrapping itself around me. The great thing is, of course, that even if I did feel I wanted to smoke I can't because I can't get to the shop and I know no-one would buy them for me. But (through gritted teeth) well done those of you who are losing. I hope to join you before too long. I have 5 lb that i gained when I quit smoking yep I know its not a lot! But i cant get it off, and i am doing 8-9 hours cardio excercise a week and eating healthy. I done a lot of excercise and watched what i eat before I quit but have increased my excercise and also very cafeful with what I eat. What is going on , I am now starting to wonder is there something wrong with me! I am nearly 6 months smoke free surely my metabolism has returned to normal ? Thanks Lainey. Raw veggies and fruit are the way to go. I'll usually have a banana with my cereal in the morning. I've been eating fruit and veggies with my lunch every day. For dinner, I've been trying to have more raw veggies with the main course. For a snack the last two days, I've had watermelon. Summer is such a great time for some of my favorite fruits! Have you tried the 100 Calorie snacks? It really helps with portion control and they have some good snacks like graham crackers, cheese nips, and chips ahoy cookies (I think they're all baked)!
